Mejuri Jewelry Review

About Mejuri

I own beautiful, fine jewelry… it just sits in a box on my dresser and is never seen – except on the rare occasion that I do something special that warrants wearing it. Mejuri was the first (and only) to make me question why I, and so many others, do this.

Why would I hide my favorite pieces for special occasions when life is the special event? Mejuri makes fine jewelry for every occasion – whether it’s for lounging, coffee or a presentation. The line of feel-good pieces is a mood in itself, a celebration of life.

Canadian e-commerce jewelry store Mejuri has quickly made a name for itself as a conscious creator in a market flooded with low-quality and outrageously expensive pieces.

Jewelry lovers rejoice in the practices that empower women and help the earth, at a reasonable price. Just ask any of their 2 million+ followers on social media or read one of the many articles in popular publications like Elle and Harper’s Bazaar.

In this Mejuri jewelry review, you’ll learn everything you need to know about the brand before you buy. From the company itself to its bestsellers and, of course, the feedback – I’ll leave no (ethical) stone unturned. Let’s dive in.

Overview of Mejuri

One question: do you really want to wait what feels like a millennium for your first cousin’s wedding to finally adorn yourself with the spectacular sterling silver necklace you’ve always wanted to wear?

You deserve more and better, so it’s high time to treat yourself to affordable luxury. Mejuri has just the thing.

Noura Sakkijha, CEO of Mejuri, worked as an engineer for years before founding the brand in 2013. Her creative and technical vision inspired her to find expert manufacturers to handcraft the jewelry with care and precision.

To this day, Mejuri operates with a direct-to-consumer business model, creating the finest accessories at an affordable price for its customers. I’m a big fan of brands that work this way, but I love this brand even more because of its mission: to help women celebrate themselves.

Mejuri is shifting the dynamic of jewelry buying from “men giving gifts to women” to “women giving gifts to themselves” – and that’s pretty remarkable if you ask me.

Mejuri Instagram Rise

During my research for this report on Mejuri jewelry, I learned that Sakkijha built Mejuri as an e-commerce and Instagram business before it became a retail store in 2018.

On Instagram, it’s mostly the tech-savvy millennials who find Mejuri through ads and recommendations from friends. This is also how I first heard about the brand.

But what has led to the company having 1 million followers on the social platform? Mejuri’s rising popularity is largely due to its compelling designs. Through Instagram, Mejuri has built a close relationship with its audience, giving it a personal touch that websites often lack.

As I scroll through the feed, I can’t help but drool over glamorous pieces that are admittedly beyond my budget.

When I saw the prices, my jaw dropped, the angels sang and life was grand. But this isn’t even my favorite part of Mejuri. As soon as I landed on the website, I fell in love with what the brand is all about.

Aside from the fresh, contemporary and accessible styles, I love that the brand works towards a sustainable supply chain, uses responsibly sourced diamonds and opts for recycled gold wherever possible.

Is there anything not to love about this brand? Spoiler alert: No. To keep the good vibes going in this Mejuri jewelry review, I’ll take a look at the highlights next.

Mejuri Necklace Review

Mejuri lotus necklace

The Lotus necklace by Mejuri is a combination of gold vermeil and AAA quality white sapphire. The thick 18-karat gold plating over the sterling silver convinced me that this piece of jewelry is of high quality.

It is very versatile and can be paired with other narrow necklaces, but I think it also shines when worn on its own. Whether you wear it up or down, this piece of jewelry will always suit your style.

The Lotus Necklace provides a sense of calm even on bad days. With a price tag of $105, this elegant piece is an easy choice.

Mejuri Tarot Moon Necklace – My FAVE Mejuri Necklace

I’m a sucker for crescent moon jewelry designs. Maybe that makes me a crazy person (pun intended), but how could I turn down this gold vermeil bestseller – especially when it’s accompanied by white sapphire stars?

The Mejuri Tarot Moon Necklace measures between 20 and 22 inches tall and is perfect with any V-neck shirt, blouse or sweater. I like the idea of pairing it with a crisp white button down.

With its thin chain, the Tarot Moon necklace stands out beautifully, adding flair and prestige, like tarot card-inspired magic. It’s yours for $95 – or mine if you can’t make up your mind fast enough.

Mejuri Locket Necklace

From a young age, I was obsessed with lockets. Whether it was the idea of having someone to cherish or the design of the locket itself, today I am just as drawn to these meaningful pieces.

With a photo of the person you love, the Mejuri Locket necklace becomes a part of you. It’s a timeless and sentimental item that captures a precious memory and keeps it close to your heart in the truest sense of the word.

The 18-karat vermeil gold plating on sterling silver gives the wearer a dynamic look at a price of only $130.

To my delight, I learned that custom engraving is available at no extra charge. Now I can have one of my favorite inspirational quotes engraved into a small, old-fashioned time capsule to make myself happy, or #formydamnself, as Mejuri would put it.

Mejuri Earrings Review

Mejuri Oversized Thin Hoops – My FAVE Mejuri earrings

These are perhaps my favorite hoops. The Mejuri Oversized Thin Hoops are made from 14 carat yellow gold and are very lightweight. They are subtle and professional and are suitable for everyday wear at work, casual wear or special occasions.

As I have a mixed skin tone, these 2mm hoops always suit my tanned, freckled face.

The large 52mm diameter makes them easy to find if you ever lose them, and people are sure to notice them and compliment you on your exquisite taste in jewelry.

Priced at $355, the Mejuri Oversized Thin Hoops are a staple that every lady should have in her jewelry box.

Mejuri Single Diamonds Line Mini Hoop

As an occasional fan of glitter, I can’t get enough of these sparkly Mejuri earrings. They come in 14-karat yellow gold or white gold, but I love both versions equally.

With conflict-free and socially responsible diamonds (SI 1-2 clarity), these precious hoops are both ethical and beautiful.

If you plan to wear them around the clock, I’ve read that 14-karat solid gold is the more durable choice. Whether you’re showering, going to bed, doing hot yoga, relaxing in the sauna or dancing in the rain, they won’t oxidize or discolor easily, so you can stay in style for many days to come. At a price of $230, you’ll fall in love instantly.

Mejuri Lotus Studs

After getting to know them so well, it wouldn’t be right not to introduce the Lotus Necklace earrings. This tiny but effective vermeil piece features a thick layer of 18-karat gold on sterling silver, surrounded by delicate white sapphires.

It’s a classic, floral-looking earring – I recommend it for first-time piercers if you want to make a loud, whisper-quiet statement.

When you read this review of Mejuri jewelry, you might think that these opulent earrings must be expensive. In reality, they only cost $105, just like the lotus necklace. So for just over $200, you can put together a pretty impressive combination.

Mejuri Ring Review

Mejuri Signet Ring

The smooth, flat bezel finish of this Mejuri ring has been around for centuries and falls into your hands (or rather, onto your finger). It’s a statement look, and I love the ability to add a personal touch.

If you choose 14-karat yellow gold or white gold, you can have your initials engraved in the center of the 8 mm diameter, 6 mm high oval to give the ring your personal touch. It’s thin, flattering and subtly beautiful for $245.

Mejuri Beaded Ring

There’s something about impossibly thin rings that captures my heart. Available in 14-karat yellow gold and white gold, the Mejuri pearl ring is a textured band suitable for many outdoor activities, above or below water, rain or shine.

I can effectively combine this piece with the aforementioned Mejuri signet ring and create a big enough impact with just slim and light jewelry.

Mejuri Beaded Ring – Yellow Gold
To me, this pearl ring is similar to a pearl necklace, both of which can be considered stylish. The price of $95 is affordable and considering its thickness of 1.3 mm, I think it is reasonable.

Mejuri Diamonds Open Ring – My FAVE Mejuri Ring

Mejuri, you’ve done it again. This ring with two diamonds spaced apart makes me swoon and add another piece to my cart. I imagine it nestling on my finger in 14 carat yellow gold, but it’s also available in white gold.

The open design of the ring makes it so versatile that it can be combined with almost all other rings, such as the Mejuri signet ring and the pearl ring. Since it is an open design, I recommend handling it with extra care as it has a tendency to catch on other items. The price of $210 is well worth the effort it takes to keep this little guy secure.

Mejuri Jewelry Case Review

Aahhh! Could the Mejuri jewelry box be any cuter? With its smooth, grained leather surface, I can easily imagine it adorning my dresser in a soft beige tone or an upbeat black.

There are three compartments inside, all specially designed for your fine or semi-fine jewelry. The lining is made from tarnish-resistant suede, which helps to keep your jewelry in pristine condition.

If you really want it and your heart is crying out for it, you have the option of personalizing the jewelry box with up to three monogram letters.

While reviewing this piece of Mejuri jewelry, I noticed that on the brand’s website, there is an example of the monogram letters with the word “YES” scrawled across the front. To me, that means saying “yes” to life and only filling it with pieces that my heart calls for. For $195, I will guard it with my life.

Mejuri Travel Case – My FAVE Lifestyle Product

I travel with my jewelry in the coin pocket of my wallet. This is undoubtedly a terrible place to do it, but in the absence of any other option, I’ve resigned myself to it. Here’s that option, and honestly, it’s great.

Imagine taking the Mejuri jewelry box in your hand and squeezing it down to its smallest element – thus creating the Mejuri travel case. Admire the four chain hooks with six pocket holes for earrings and the ring holder measuring 0.5 x 2 inches.

The Mejuri travel case, which costs 110 dollars, is extremely compact. It fits easily into a purse, luggage and this Mejuri jewelry review. There are two exterior leather options for the travel case: grained leather in black or beige.

Is Mejuri Jewelry Good?

A legitimate question, no doubt. To me, the value of Mejuri jewelry seems reasonable given the price and overall quality. The exceptional makers are committed to ethical practices and use only the best materials – another thing they score highly on.

Plus, Mejuri puts the consumer first, and since the products are shipped directly to them, you avoid markups that make your favorite pieces ten times more expensive. Precious metals, chains and gemstones are used for the jewelry. The gemstones, including diamonds, sapphires, citrines and pearls, are of very high quality and will last for many years, especially if you look after them properly.

From what I’ve seen so far, I can confidently say that Mejuri jewelry is good. But let’s see what the customers have to say.

Most customers on the Mejuri website rave that Mejuri’s sleek and minimalist styles are amazingly dainty and perfect for constant wear. These loyal customers even go a step further and recommend Mejuri to close friends and family members, making the purchase even more enjoyable.

On the other hand, some Mejuri reviews express skepticism about the quality and whether the jewelry can really stand the test of time without showing obvious discoloration or deformation.

Outside of the Mejuri website, others have agreed. Some have also had technical issues with the jewelry, but I am happy to report in this Mejuri jewelry review that while these things are unfortunate, they are also uncommon.

Mejuri Promotions & Discounts

For this review of Mejuri jewelry, I looked around for deals from the brand. Right now, the brand is offering free shipping and extended returns (no Mejuri coupon code required) at select locations.

To receive a 10% Mejuri coupon for your next order, sign up for the mailing list. This will also keep you up to date on the latest offers.

Want more? The brand recommends checking their website for a Mejuri discount code that might pop up. I found that while there is no Mejuri sale section, you can find pieces at great prices from time to time.

While there is no Mejuri promo code, the brand does offer a 2-year guarantee on all of their products. To me, that’s a pretty good deal.

Mejuri Black Friday

Although Black Friday still seems to be a good year away, Mejuri isn’t holding back on giving customers what they want at lower prices.

Based on every Mejuri Black Friday in the past, it looks like Mejuri is offering discounts between 10% and 30%. It’s like the gods are smiling at us with open hands, ready to give, give, give! And I’m happy to take it.

FAQ

Where to Buy Mejuri

Mejuri jewelry can be purchased through the website mejuri.com or in one of their retail stores in Toronto or New York. I personally love buying jewelry online, but there’s something to be said for trying on a piece before you buy it – just be prepared to fall in love.

Mejuri Shipping Policy

Mejuri ships to Canada, the USA, Europe, Australia and other international locations (see website). Each country has a different shipping rate, for example, orders over $100 in Canada have free shipping or a flat rate of $5 for expedited shipping. Orders under $100 in Canada cost a flat rate of $10 for express shipping or $15 for expedited shipping.

I’ve found that shipping costs in the US are the same as in Canada, while in other countries you have to spend a little more to get your long-awaited, beautiful items.

In this part of my Mejuri jewelry review, I must point out that shipping times depend on what you order and what the status of each product is (on backorder, on order, or in stock). The estimated shipping date is indicated in the order details in your Mejuri profile and in the confirmation email after your order.

Mejuri Return Policy

Returning Mejuri is free within 30 days in Canada, Australia and the USA. However, you must ensure that all original labels and packaging are still intact and that the jewelry itself shows no signs of wear.

What cannot be exchanged or returned? Engraved pieces – just so you know, dear reader. To start the return process, you need to:

Log in to your Mejuri profile account
Select “My returns”.
From there, you will be guided through the steps to select the item and create the return labels.
