Let the Métiers d’Art 2025 runway inspire you.
Every December, Chanel presents its Métiers d’Art collection, showcasing the craftsmanship of the French ateliers it collaborates with, as well as a wealth of beauty inspiration for the holidays. At this year’s 2025 show in Hangzhou, China, dramatically curved eyes added an edgy, cool touch to glittering tweed sets, flowing silk dresses and cozy bouclé coats.
Backstage, the elongated wings were adapted to the individual eye shape of each model. Le Liner De Chanel Noir in 512 Profond was applied in a thick, straight line that followed the shape of the upper eyelid and winged outwards. Pro tip: The wing should be angled slightly upwards so that it looks like a cat and lifts the eye. Ombre Essentielle Eye Shadow 246 Bois Noir was then applied to intensify the shape. The finishing touch? The upper lashes were mascaraed with Le Volume De Chanel mascara in 10 Noir to create more volume and enhance the cat-eye effect.
While a festive red lip or shimmering eye makeup are perennial favorites among holiday looks, the Chanel runway has us thinking about an unexpected – and equally, if not more impactful – eye look à la Christmas queens The Ronettes for our next holiday.
